The new facility strengthens Bioactivx’s ability to manufacture Bioactiv® Matrix and support its commercial expansion in Singapore and overseas.
Bioactivx has officially opened its new office and manufacturing facility at BLOCK71 in Singapore’s one-north innovation district.
The facility brings the company’s product development, quality and manufacturing activities together in a dedicated location. It has been established to support the commercial production of Bioactiv® Matrix following its regulatory approval in Singapore.
Bioactiv® Matrix is manufactured using Bioactivx’s proprietary materials platform and a controlled three-dimensional printing process. The new facility houses the equipment and operating systems required to produce the Matrix consistently and in accordance with the company’s quality management system.
Establishing an in-house manufacturing capability allows Bioactivx to maintain close oversight of critical production and quality processes as the company moves from clinical development into commercial operations. The facility will also support future product development and manufacturing scale-up.
“Opening this facility marks Bioactivx’s transition into a commercial-stage regenerative medicine company,” said Dr Teo Peili, CEO and Co-Founder of Bioactivx. “It gives us the foundation to manufacture Bioactiv® Matrix under a robust quality system while continuing to develop new solutions for clinicians and patients.”
The new facility forms part of Bioactivx’s broader strategy to build a scalable Singapore-based manufacturing platform for regenerative biomaterials. Its location within BLOCK71 also places the company in close proximity to Singapore’s research, healthcare and technology ecosystems.
Following the commercial introduction of Bioactiv® Matrix in Singapore, Bioactivx intends to expand its manufacturing capabilities progressively in line with clinical adoption and international demand.
The facility represents another step in the company’s journey from an A*STAR and Singapore General Hospital spin-off to a Singapore-based developer and manufacturer of regenerative wound-care products.
